- Contact an IFS approved certification body or assessment service provider to communicate your intention to implement the check.

- Engage an auditor or assessor to validate the commodity list, the company’s data and evidence.
- Receive the improvement action plan. Fill in and return the action plan to the certification body or assessment service provider, if applicable. Receive the report and letter of confirmation.
- Review the report, improvement action plan and letter of confirmation uploaded to the IFS Database by the certification body or assessment service provider.
- Make the documents available to your business partners.
