IFS Remote Surveillance Check
IFS is convinced that on-site observations is the key to ensuring the production of safe products and that certificates can only be issued after such an assessment. In Coronavirus times, however, on-site assessments often cannot take place. Still, there is a need in the market for remote solutions. As a response to those needs, IFS has developed a remote surveillance check. This check is voluntary and allows IFS certified companies to demonstrate that their supporting procedures and management processes are maintained even in these challenging times. The check is only applicable to IFS certified companies, where a scheduled IFS renewal audit was not possible due to the Coronavirus crisis. The certification body who issued the last certificate should preferably conduct the Remote Surveillance Check, as the company and managing processes are already known. However, in the case of a CB change by the company, the check can also be conducted by the new certification body. The IFS Remote Surveillance Check is a stand-alone solution that is especially developed for this crisis situation. It is not accredited and its result cannot be taken into account for future IFS Certification audits.
