IFS now covers six different standards that are recognised worldwide. The most well-known of these is the IFS Food Standard, which was published in 2003. Further standards added over the years are IFS Logistics, IFS Cash and Carry/Wholesale, IFS Broker, IFS HPC, IFS PACsecure and IFS Food Store. Furhermore IFS developed the IFS Global Markets Programs for Food, Logistics and HPC to enable companies by a stepwise approach to implement a safety and quality system. When developing all our standards and programs we place great emphasis on involving the certification bodies, as their experience gained during audits is taken into account in every decision.

110 certification bodies and assessment service providers (as of 2017) carry out 22,000 certifications worldwide. This figure has been rising in recent years, as more businesses are seeking to be certified according to one of our standards. IFS is synonymous with product safety and quality, thanks largely to the good work of the certification bodies and the well-qualified auditors. That is why training at IFS is only provided by experts, who not only have practical experience but have also played a key role in developing the standards.
