Registration process for auditors NEW
Since January 2018 auditors can choose between the IFS exclusive and non-exclusive auditor approach. The new approach is applicable for upcoming and already approved auditors. Furthermore the IFS provides an administration platform with a log-in area for auditors. All auditors shall be registered on this new platform.
How can new auditors register for the platform?
All new auditors has to be registered or register actively for the IFS Auditor platform! The procedure depends on the selected approach:
New exclusive auditors
Exclusive auditors are auditors exclusively working for one certification body. There are two approaches:
1. Auditors with audit experience
This approach is the traditional IFS approach and meant for experienced auditors, exclusively working for one certification body.
2.Auditors without audit experience
This approach is called the "auditor in progress" program. This program published in May 2015 was developed for those applicants with no audit experience, but who fulfill all other
requirements.
These auditors have to be registered by the certification body.
New non-exclusive auditors
Non-exclusive auditors are auditors who can work for more than one certification body. They are responsible on their own for their approval and approval maintenance process.
These auditors shall register here. After the registration the auditors have to confirm their email address and then pay the registration fee: 125 EURO (net).

How can approved auditors register for the platform?
If you are already registered for the IFS Database you can login with your account details by clicking on the login sign at the top of this site.
- What are the changes for existing exclusive auditors who would like to continue working exclusively for one certification body?
None! If an auditor would like to stay with his/her recent certification body he/she doesn’t have to do anything at the moment. In the long term, he/she has to be registered in the portal as well. This registration has to be done by the certification body in case the auditors didn´t register on his/her own before January 2018.
For the moment, those auditors who would like to switch their exclusive certification body (i.e. work exclusively for another certification body) should contact IFS directly. The IFS auditor management will give them a hand: Diese E-Mail-Adresse ist vor Spambots geschützt! Zur Anzeige muss JavaScript eingeschaltet sein!
- Can auditors work as non-exclusive auditors now?
Yes they can. If auditors are registered in the portal they can switch their status from exclusive to non-exclusive. Please note that non-exclusive auditors have to fill out their CV and accept the terms and conditions before they can apply for certification bodies.
Furthermore non-exclusive auditors are responsible for their re-approval and have to register by their own for Calibration Trainings. Qualification courses for IFS Standards such as IFS Logistics, IFS Broker and others have to be booked and paid by them.
If a non-exclusive auditor works for more than one certification body he/she has to be witnessed by each certification body. The certification body for which the auditor is already listed (because he previously worked exclusively for it) is not obligated to do another witness audit before the first audit.
Please note: To avoid extra work for IFS Auditors the IFS will provide until mid of 2018 all CV from existing auditors. From there the auditos only have to accept the terms and conditions.
