IFS opens office in Poland for Central and Eastern European market
IFS Business Development Manager for Central and Eastern Europe IFS opens office in Poland to strengthen commitment in the Central and Eastern European market
Beginning May 1st, 2011, Mr. Marek Marzec will become the new IFS Business Development Manager for Central and Eastern Europe. The mission is to help the standards set by IFS increase market penetration in this very important area of the world for food production and boost the general development of quality assurance systems.
Mr. Marzec will promote the IFS standards in Central and Eastern Europe (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Serbia, Croatia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Russia), which will include building relationships with dedicated businesses such as food industry companies, international and local retailers, logistic companies, Certification Bodies, GO’s and NGO’s and research institutes. As a graduated Food Technologist, Marek Marzec has held various positions in the food industry, including production engineer, business development manager and general manager in a food factory. Enlarging his experience he also worked in the modern distribution segment for Makro Cash&Carry Poland within the food purchasing department. He then held a series of positions within the Metro Group organization on local and regional levels. These positions related to international buying, private label development, international expansion and quality assurance.
Since 2003, as a member of the IFS Working Group, Marek Marzec has constantly contributed to IFS development. He has participated in many local and international conferences dedicated to food safety and for the past two years has been leading his own consulting company.
With more than 11,000 certificates, standards translated into 20 languages and 800+ auditors the IFS Food is one of the largest food safety and quality standards worldwide. The International Food Standard has continuously developed into an internationally recognized umbrella brand now called International Featured Standards (IFS), which now comprises globally applied standards in Food, Logistics, Household and Personal Care (HPC), Broker, and Cash & Carry/Wholesale.
